San Diego, CA – San Diego Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk Jordan Marks is reminding property owners with damage from the 2024 floods that they may qualify for property tax relief. The one-year deadline to file is January 22, 2025. Time is running out. Property owners must submit their Application for Reassessment of Property Damaged by Misfortune or Calamity by January 22, 2025, to qualify. If you have already submitted an application, it is not necessary to refile.
To qualify for property tax reduction: Homeowners or commercial property owners must have had at least $10,000 in damage to their home or commercial property due to the 2024 winter storm. Qualified applicants can have their property taxes temporarily reduced until the property is restored. For specific details and to apply online please visit www.sdarcc.gov/DisasterRelief
