Since 2020 lead, for the elected County of San Diego, California,
Assessor, Recorder, and County Clerk, the fifth largest assessment
jurisdiction in the USA, with over 475 full and part-time employees,
student workers, and contractors, with a $90 million annual budget.
Tim received his California Certified Property Appraiser designation
shortly after joining the office. He recently became credentialed
with The Chief of Staff Association out of London, UK.
He served as President of the International Association of Assessing
Officers (IAAO) for 2019 and President of the Arizona Chapter twice in
2008 and 2011. He has received numerous IAAO awards and is currently
serving his last year on the Board of Trustee’s for the Professional
Consulting Services, LLC of IAAO.
Prior to 2020, Tim served two elected Maricopa County, Arizona,
assessors for over 14 years as their chief deputy assessor. His public
service career in the State of Arizona began in 1989 where he served
four governors of the state in various executive management positions
until he joined Maricopa County in 2006.
He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of
Arizona and his master’s degree from the LBJ School at the
University of Texas.
Tim lives in Coronado, California and Kansas City, Missouri, with
his wife, IAAO Executive Director Amy Rasmussen. They have five
children from previous marriages and two grandchildren.
